Description
Please read the details below before placing an order for a multi-user licence for Family Historian 7. For each order, you will be required to specify the band type required (educational or commercial) and the number of installations required. Orders for multi-user licences cannot be purchased directly from the Family Historian store. Instead, please email your order to support@family-historian.co.uk providing all the information detailed in the section ‘How to Order a Multi-User Licence’ below.
Definition of Bands
There are 2 bands:
- Band 1 – Educational (for non-commercial educational institutions such as schools, colleges, universities, etc)
- Band 2 – Commercial (all other institutions)

Licences
Each licence specifies a maximum number of permitted installations. A 10-installation multi-user licence can be installed on a maximum of 10 devices (‘devices’ normally means Windows computers). If you wish to install the software on virtual desktops in the Cloud, this is permitted. Each virtual desktop installation counts as one installation.
Restrictions Applicable to All Multi-user Licences
Licenses cannot be sold or transferred. The software may only be installed on PCs that are being used by the institution owning the licences, for the purposes of the institution owning the licences. The software must be uninstalled from PCs before the PCs are disposed of in any way, or made available to any individual or institution for any other purpose.
Prices & Discounts
Prices are in pounds sterling. The base price per installation for each licence depends on the band.
- Base price (Commercial): £41.67 + VAT if applicable
- Base price (Educational): £20.83 + VAT if applicable

How to Order a Multi-User Licence
To place an order for a multi-user licence, please send an email to support@family-historian.co.uk, providing the following details:
- Licence Type (Educational or Commercial)*
- Maximum Number of Installations Required
- Licence Agreement Purchaser Name
- Licence Agreement Purchaser Address
- Email address for invoice
- Contact Name
- Contact Telephone Number
- Contact Email
* If you think you might qualify as an educational establishment, please contact us with supporting evidence.
Orders for multi-user licences are processed manually which can take up to 2 working days. Once the order has been validated and processed, you will receive an initial email confirmation of your order and an invoice. On receipt of payment, your licence will be emailed to you together with instructions for installation and activation. The software is downloaded from the Internet. Internet access is also required during installation of the software, and for licence activation.
